So as we come to the end week 3

I cracked on with the costumes, two left to get 🙂 and sort out. So progress has been made, feeling a lot more positive now about that area. I will upload designs soon and photos of current outfits so everyone has a rough idea of what it will look like. Director and myself have also arranged to go and meet people who could possibly help with hair and make up, which will help me as that is where im less confident.

Due to weather conditions we had to halt filming that we had planned this week and look into rescheduling this, Directo Producer and PA are looking into holding a meeting ASAP this week to sort this out.

In terms of my PA role I feel that this is the area that im gettinf snowed under with, especially when it comes to formatting scripts in proper way, however I feel I have definately improved from last term in the way of supporting both producer and director (feel free to comment if disagree, or areas need improvement)

All for now, see you next week 🙂 xx

So the Stress begins

After a productive first week, we entered our second week with exactly what we needed to achieve by the end of this week. Despite missing the weekly meeting with Neil, due to illness, there are much better communication now between the group and we all feel more positive with this terms work.

As Director previously mentionned we now have a complete (ish) script which everyone in the group is happy with and can invisage the final result more clearly. As the script is now complete, the next stage is working on the timings each scene has and aiming to achieve an overall time for the whole show. In addition to this the producer, director and myself are able to work on a week by week schedule for filming so everyone knows exactly what we are doing what week.

I have started to research the costume designs and what each character will look like and whether they fit the time period by which we setting the piece in. I have also started to sketch ideas and costruct a breakdown of who has what outfit in what scene and at what stage the main character changes her dramatic appearance.

Keeping up the positivity …….

PA and Costume

The role as PA is too essentially to support the Director and Producer throughout the project, this could be assisting them on set whether it be on location or in the television studio. This role also involves organising the production paperwork, this can include booking facilities, organinsing location reccys, writing up notes from meetings which are then passed on to other members of the group.

This week, we had our first meeting and established what exactly each of us individually wanted to achieve from this term. We also worked out exactly what area of the previous footage needed to be improved and how we could organise our time better. I also met up with the Director and Producer and together we worked out an ongoing week by week schedule for the purpose of getting everything filmed and everybody understood exactly what we need to do.

In addition to this role I also took on the role of costume designer, which means I have the responsibility of making sure each character has a costume for every scene. The costumes themselves need to fit the time period we are aiming for and also got to look good on screen, as a group we felt that the costumes needed to be more improved this term, so my starting point was to research what influences there were for clothes of the 70’s, including the punk outfits.
